St Matthew's has launched a Friends group in order to stay in touch and to support our work in Thorpe Hamlet. St Matthews is a special place, with our work with families and children, senior citizens and refugees as well as being a place where many groups meet to learn together.
We were once asked by a perplexed Bishop "are you a Church or a community centre?" to which the answer is always both. We are rooted in our life of prayer and worship and that leads us to holding open the doors for the whole community irrespective of their faith. The work we do is done at a remarkably low cost, due to the generosity of our volunteers, but those costs still present a challenge and we do need help.
Would you consider being a friend of St Matthews and making a regular donation?
